Stephen Ministry At Crestwood
Acts: 5a and 8 “And they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit. And Stephen, full of grace and power, did great wonders and signs among the people.”
The Stephen Minister is a caring Christian friend who will listen, pray and care. The Stephen Minister is not a counselor, pastor, chauffeur or person to run errands. the caring relationship will go on as long as the care receiver needs it to.
Core Purpose
Our Stephen Ministry at Crestwood exists to equip God’s people to carry Christ’s love to hurting people.
Core Values
God, in Jesus Christ, provides hope for the world. We believe God has gifted and called every Christian to share this good news. God is the cure giver. We are the caregivers. God calls us to care for hurting people inside and outside our congregation. Congregational care is a shared responsibility of our pastoral staff and Stephen Ministers. Stephen Ministry is for the benefit of the care receivers, not for the sake of Stephen Ministers or Stephen Leaders. Training, support and supervision provide a standard of excellence and discipline for our Stephen Ministers.
